Riya Baral

Riya is a calm and astute advocate who brings both precision and empathy to her work in family law. She understands that every family is different, and that strength can come from nontraditional structures. Growing up in a diverse household in northern Colorado, she brings an open mind and deep cultural awareness to every client relationship. Her approach is grounded in emotional intelligence and strategy, guiding clients through difficult transitions with clarity and care.

Before joining Drexler Law Group, Riya served as a Deputy District Attorney for the 4th Judicial District, where she prosecuted a range of criminal cases and gained extensive trial experience. This background makes her a confident courtroom presence, ready to litigate when necessary. At the same time, she brings a steady hand to negotiation and always seeks thoughtful, lasting resolutions for families in crisis.

Riya earned her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy. During law school, she represented clients in criminal matters through the Law Clinic. She received her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she studied Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems.

Fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi, Riya is especially equipped to serve clients from a wide range of backgrounds. She is also a dedicated LGBTQ+ ally and believes in making the legal system more accessible and human for every individual who walks through the door.

Outside the office, Riya enjoys traveling internationally, exploring new cuisines, and watching South Korean dramas and period piece dramadies. She brings the same curiosity and attentiveness to her personal life that she brings to every legal case.
